If I were Santa, Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer would teeter totter back and forth between my good list and bad list on a regular basis.
This month, he’s on my good list.
Why? Because he is standing up to the unconstitutional aspects of the Federal REAL ID legislation and to the bureaucrats (like the Russ guy in the article referred to above) who think they know better than the states and don’t care about whether their actions are within the bounds of the U.S. Constitution.
You know, that document might not be perfect, but it’s the one we have and when followed - it works pretty darned well.
Meanwhile, Homeland Security, more specifically TSA, threatens to delay Montanans in airports across the country. Let em.
Maybe every air traveler who lives in MT should get a passport just to annoy the bureaucrats because they won’t need a (fake) REAL ID.
This one will be fun to watch. As I hear it, a number of governors who have no backbones are quietly rooting for Schweitzer and Montana to win this one. Here’s hoping the Montana governor takes it all the way to the Supreme Court if he has to.
